Installation Questions

Do you offer installation?

We do not offer any in-house installation services. However, we can connect you with a trusted installation partner who has handled dozens of installations for our customers. You would work with and contract directly with them. Please let us know if you'd like more information.

Alternatively, and while all of our equipment is commercial grade, the installation can be performed by anyone with general construction knowledge. The most difficult part of the installation is the digging of the holes and mixing the concrete. We can provide you with installation instructions, prior to purchase, so you can share with the local contractor of your choice. Landscape contractors, deck builders, fence contractors, and handyman services have all successfully completed playground installations.

Which is the best safety surface for my playground and is that surface really that important?

Having an adequate depth and a compliant material for your playground safety surface is critical. Approximately 70% of ALL playground injuries are a result of a fall to the ground. So, the surface the children are falling onto should not be overlooked.

You can rely on a number of factors in choosing the actual safety surface material for your playground. Site conditions like drainage, budget, and frequency of use should all be considered. Loose fill materials (engineered wood fiber, sand, pea gravel, etc..), rubber mulch, and Poured-in-Place Rubber (PIP) each have their advantages and disadvantages. We would be happy to discuss your specific situation and offer you some experienced guidance on what best suit your needs.

How do I figure out how much rubber and glue I will need for my Poured-In-Place (PIP) project?

Use our Poured In Place Surface Materials Calculator to determine the amount of materials required. You will need to provide the square footage of your area and the fall height of your playground equipment.

It is recommended that the temperature be at least 45 degrees and rising with no rain in the forecast. In cooler temperatures, the cure time for the repairs may be as much as 48 hours (vs the typical 24 hour cure time).

Do you make swings for adults?

Unfortunately, no. While adults frequently use our swings, these swings are specifically designed and manufactured for children (2-12) years old.

What is the weight capacity of your swings?

Our swing sets carry a manufacturer stated capacity of 300 lbs per swing location. Our belt/sling/tot-bucket swings have a stated capacity of 125lbs. Most of our ADA Adaptive Swings carry a 125 lb capacity (the only exception being the "High Capacity Adaptive Swing" which carries a 300 lb capacity).

With that being said, all of these swing sets and swings are commercial grade and meet the strength requirements of ASTM-1487. ASTM 1487 requires load testing well in excess of 500 lbs.
